Alessandro had a perfectly good reason for selecting the box labelled thorns. The reason had very little to do with the subject matter, though, and so the seventh year did not extrapolate on his choice. No matter how interesting Rainwater considered his decision.
With the first question out, Alessandro listened to his peers catalog poisonous plants. He knew a few himself. Uncle Robert had a garden filled to the brim with lots of beautiful plants that were deadly. It was worth noting how often those two things went together.
Al raised his hand and said, "Laurel, sir. It produces cyanide." Which, for those that did not know, kills.
