No doubt about it, by this point in term, going to lessons and completing homework felt more like ticking items off of a to do list rather than being anything properly worth engaging with. It was all a way of keeping busy. The content of the classes? Didn't matter. The grades of the homework? Weren't important. Kaiser was just... going through the motions. But that was fine. That was what he needed to do. It was fine.

He was fine.

He arrived at the Care of Magical Creatures lesson looking as frowny and preoccupied as he usually did as of late - more so, even, as things were not necessarily improving. Casting only the briefest glance at the cage and the birds that inhabited it, he drifted over to sit by Kodee. Naturally.

"Afternoon," Kaiser mumbled in the direction of Nostredame, barely audible, but there was at least an attempt at politeness. He was clearly distracted. By a lot of things, yes, and a moment later, by Kodee's fiddling with his school tie as well.
