"You should come with us," he said to Bernie. About the boat rides, that is. If boat rides were a rite of passage, and she'd missed them, did she even go to Hogwarts? Honestly, it would be much better if she took a boat.

He eyed the newcomer with a mixture of interest and skepticism. Blake had been looking for Bernie all over, and just now found her? They were in the middle of the train and their door was open. Bad sleuthing skills, there. Elias listened to the exchange between Bernie and Blake before offering up a noncommital, "Hi."

Were they friends? He supposed friendship came in all shapes and varieties. Shrug shrug shrug.
