He liked it! Bernie couldn't help it; she beamed with a little bit of pride at the first year's reaction to Diagon Alley. She'd felt the same way about it all, honestly, and was low-key impressed that he'd been allowed to shop all by himself. "I don't have a pet either! But don't worry, the school has owls you can borrow if you need one," she reassured him kindly. WOW, a hamster with three heads and fifteen legs?! That might be worth looking into. Maybe she could ask the Care of Magical Creatures professor about them? Since Beauxbatons had been allowed a pet dragon, at least Hogwarts could get something with two or three heads, right? The school had probably never ever even had a three-headed pet before...

She leaned forward to check out his robes and raised her eyebrows some. "They look nice, Elias. I like the trim." He'd even made friends already?! That was something Bernie still struggled with, but she didn't want to admit that... she had, after all, run into one of her Slytherin um, buddies, in the Alley.... "Maybe next summer we can check it out." That's right, Bernie was looping him into her shenanigans. "I heard there's a shop in Knockturn Alley that sells shrunken heads and dried hands that have special powers." Sounded neat, right?!
