Nina was torn between two extreme emotions. One was of utmost secondhand embarrassment on behalf of Mackenzie Motts. The other, was judgement. Nina Castillo was judging Kodee Chosen like no other. The thought of having a boy burst into a room, calling your name and professing his love in front of a crowd sounded romantic in theory, she supposed. But in reality it only looked incredibly foolish. That and they were at the Ministry of Magic for a professional internship. Calyx was a gryffindor too, but he would never do such a thing. Not only did he know her well enough to recognize that she would hate this kind of attention, but he was also very mature and knew there was a time and place. Far more mature than Kodee Chosen, she thought.
The only good part of this fiasco was that her skirt situation was surely the last thing Mr. Flamsteed was thinking about now. That and—EEEEK!
Nina let out a shrill squeak (thank Merlin it wasn’t a fully-fledged scream because she was kind of known for those) when the room suddenly started spinning. Her first instinct was to grab something closest to her for stability, and that something happened to be Lucas Dakest.
Unfortunately, the sudden stop made her (still holding to Lucas, by the way) NEARLY fall to the ground. Thank goodness for Lucas. He didn’t say too much, but as it turns out, he could be helpful after all. Once they came to a stop, she proceeded to straighten her back and fix her skirt, nodding in response to the question posed by one of the employees (Jonathan). TECHNICALLY she was ‘okay’, but at what cost!?! That and she decided to fully ignore whatever Kodee was doing because the second hand embarrassment was starting to stress her out and Nina could not afford to worry about what someone ELSE was doing at the moment.
