Mariana was learning quite a bit about the people around her simply by observing the way they interacted with each other and she'd decided that these were definitely not the people she needed to be spending her time with. Even as the model one mispronounced her name, proclaiming his love of pasta and mozzarella sticks, the botanist found herself looking around for an escape route. "It's Mariana," She corrected distractedly at the same time as Adam, who might be the only person here that wasn't completely full of themselves. She offered him a small smile in gratitude, appreciating the help. Wait, botanistry? That...was a new one. "Working with plants can be, yes." And yes, this was her way of helping him out, as it was abundantly clear he had no idea what her area of expertise was. Why would he? She was sure as a model he had better things to concern himself with...
She was starting to get a headache here.
Particularly when James announced that he and Zita Vella of the Vella tea Vellas had reunited recently. It wasn't so much the word choice as how it was said, and the brunette suddenly felt uncomfortable. Funny seeing as she didn't even know these people. Adam, though...she couldn't help wondering how he was feeling about this. She'd thought when the other woman arrived that the two of them were together, but seeing this James and the way he was acting with her, the brunette was all confused.
Soap opera indeed.
"Well, I'm parched. Adam, did you still need help getting over to the food?"
