What are the odds you're going to win something?", he said, "Forgive my pessimism." After a while he changed his mind and said, "Actually, I might go for the Private Robe Fitting consultation as well. I need some new clothes too." He took a form and quickly filled it in. Slipping it into the box, he stood back up. He adjusted his red tie (it kept moving out of place) and added, "Sorry, did you say you work in the Creatures department? Because I work there too." He held his hand out and introduced himself.
"I'm Giovanni.", he explained. A very common Italian name, it was. His parents were not creative at all when naming him. He remembered something about his grandparents naming him, but it was most likely just a cover story for not being as creative with names when they were young. Oops had she startled the man? That hadn't been Becca's intention at all. She had just wanted to chat idly with someone new. The man got prop's in her book for finding himself pretty quickly though. Shrugging Becca looked up from examining the rare stamp collection. "I suppose the odds depends on how many people bid at the auction tonight." It wasn't something she cared much about though since it could be 20 or hundreds that opened their purses to bid tonight and it really was in her mind a wasted point to try and guess the odds. "I personally think we should just bid to bid for Hogwarts sake. If we win or not is secondary since the school is in such need." If Becca's small bid helped repair the Hogwarts castle back to its grandness then it was worth it and not a complete waste.
The man was interested in the clothes consultation too which meant that Becca had a competitor. She took her own form, filled it out after thinking carefully deciding on a bid and then she slipped it into the waiting box after the man had done the same. Taking a step back to look over the dates up for auction she paused making big eyes at the sight of her own bosses name which made her hear only parts of the man's but thankfully his introduction. Turning Becca beamed and reached out to shook the man's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Giovanni. I'm Rebecca and I'm new in the spirits division. Where do you work?" "We can go check out the auction items, perhaps?" Quote:

He was sure a few turns on the dance floor would unspool that tightness and while he would rather spin a strapping young man around the dance floor, he wasn’t averse to sashaying with a pretty lady from time to time. Laurel was not amused by this sassy mouthed french man and she couldn't understand how that girl could be interested in his company. Shaking her head she declined curtly to the man "No thank you Mister. I'm waiting to dine and dance with my husband." As Aaron arrived just then at her side she felt the comforting squeeze of his hand on hers and turned to look lovingly into his eyes. "Yes, let's go look at the auction items Aaron maybe we can bid on a new family broom for the children?" Laurel was more than ready to be steered away from the man that looked like he was a pot of trouble waiting to happen and she felt bad for the girl who had no clue. Turning away from the french man it took some effort to utter out "Have a good evening mister!" to him before Laurel turned all her attention on her husband "What took you so long Aaron? Did the kids not want to be left at my mothers?" |
