As you have rung in the New Year with your family and friends, it is time for the most anticipated gala of the turn of the century. It is Saturday, January 9th and this year the Ministry has gone all out for its Centennial Celebration. The Atrium has been decorated so much some might not even recognize it as the same space. With platinum balloons, streamers, and chic table clothes, it is looking more like a banquet hall than the Ministry's reception hub. As you enter, there is a coat check right beside the floo network fireplaces and luxurious round tables are set up nearby with servers bringing each course right to your seat. Along the side, there is a long all-you-can-eat dessert buffet with as many items as your taste buds can handle. Don't get too full too fast! The Minister and department heads want you to enjoy the music (the best hits of the last century) and dance as well.

With all the amazing things going on to celebrate the turn of the century and a new term at the Ministry, is there anything that could enrichen the night even more? Turns out, there is! As you walk around the Fountain of Magical Bretheren, away from the dining tables and dance floor, you will find a silent auction going on to support Hogwarts. Long tables have been arranged in neat rows with all items on display and their descriptions adjacent to them. Items range from some amazing Diagon Alley products to a date with the Minister of Magic himself! See something that tickles your fancy? Simply take one of the forms stacked in front of the item you desire, write your name and maximum bid, and slip it into the enchanted box beside it. Winners will be announced before the night officially comes to a close!
