The mist continued to thicken (seemingly coming from the the top of the grand staircase) and while the entirety of the entrance hall was shrouded in darkness, not a single torch lit, one could still make out shifting figures in the gloomy haze. Encroaching. Encircling. From the inky corners, the nooks and crannies around the hourglasses, slipping out of the broomstick cupboard, descending down the staircase and from the corridors branching off from its top. Their numbers began to increase and only thickened the feeling of fear in the air.

Not real? They certainly were very real. And they were creeping closer and closer..

Suddenly, as with every other encounter, indistinguishable forms suddenly lurched out from the mist and grabbed hold of those (Felixir, lazykitty & TakemetotheBurrow) closest to them. Holding tightly. Refusing to let go.

Though something unexpected happened. The forms latching on bleed into another shape, that which would terrorize the mind of their victim, but then it faded into another. Another form that could strike fear into the heart of the human closest to their captive audience. And then a blend of the two. A blend of three. Then a form resembling none of them at all. A muddled amalgam of frights.
