PRE-ILVERMORNY

Caitlyn had a very standard upbringing, and honestly it shows. Her mother and father are both journalists who met while studying in faraway London. Her father is British, while her mother is a full blown New Yorker and won't ever let you forget it. Caitlyn was born in Manhattan and the family moved to Brooklyn soon after. She went to a wizarding elementary school, but found it very easy to mingle with no-maj kids around her age.

Her mother, ever the fashion lover (who's journalism career plateaued fairly quickly so she became a Mom columnist in America's Witch Weekly, and is very happy living in the relatively bright spotlight), taught her about the importance of her external appearance from a young age, so Caitlyn takes great care to always look immaculate. She's not yet allowed any make up, but her bed time skin routine has been locked down since she was nine.

As far as siblings go, Caitlyn is quite fond of Caspian because he mostly keeps out of her way. The five year age gap saw to that quite nicely. Her favourite person in the world is her cousin Delilah Eris. They stopped seeing each other as frequently when they started going to proper schools - Delilah lives in England - but whenever they meet the decibels they produce are a clear indication that their love for each other will never diminish. Caitlyn also genuinely likes and misses her other cousin Eli, but her mother and father both said she shouldn't press the matter too much because it's complicated grown up stuff.

Naturally, Caitlyn snooped because that sounded more like an invitation than a warning, and she learned that Eli's parents had split up and that there had been some cheating there. So, her parents had been right. Complicated grown up stuff. Not that she doesn't know what cheating means, she's way more mature than others her age, but seemed very messy.

She is not as close to her cousins on her father's side, mostly because Remy is much older than her, and ... she doesn't like the twins. Caitlyn has never really been able to pinpoint what exactly it is about them that she doesn't like, but it hasn't ever taken up a big chunk of her thinking time. Maybe one day she'll get along with them better, but honestly she's not too fussed.

Going into her first year at Ilvermorny, Caitlyn broke up with all five of her boyfriends (yes, you read that right and no, no cheating was involved) (apparently) in preparation. Ilvermorny is the most exciting thing that's ever happened to her, and Caitlyn Nora Edwards is DETERMINED to be top of her class, the best of the best, to shine in every class and exam, and distractions were super unnecessary.

Plus, she'd make new friends and new boyfriends at school anyway. She has no problem making friends. Ilvermorny, are you ready?? Because EDWARDS IS INCOMING.

ILVERMORNY
A friend to most and a diligent enemy to some, her years at Ilvermorny have been dotted with extremely dramatic social situations. Caitlyn thrives on being the centre of attention and will act accordingly in most situations, usually without realising she's being inappropriate until it's far too late. She enjoys being a favourite of the teachers - will claim she doesn't, as it's horribly dorky to be a teacher's pet, cue gasp of horror - and is a good student, with big aspirations for her future.
