There were a few more things that she would need for her second year, now that she would be attending a school instead of being homeschooled.
She was particularly excited about buying her uniform, strangely enough. On her way to the shop, Louise spotted the ice cream shop she was fond of and convinced her parents to give her a few coins to get some ice cream. That gave them a break to do some of their own shopping and let Louise do what she wanted.
Once she left the shop with a big scoop of ice cream on top of a cone in her hand, the redhead looked for a seat outside and spotted a table with another young girl at it with a big cone and a big book. "Whatcha reading?" Louise asked, inviting herself to sit down at the table with said girl. Hopefully she wouldn't mind. Ordinarily, Bernadette had a 'just say no' to 'stranger danger' policy about talking to strangers. But she had mostly forgotten that today in favour of excitedly drinking in everything she could about wizards, wizarding culture, wizard foods... other wizard children...
Here was one now. Bernie eyeballed her with one eyebrow askew, ascertaining the quality of the girl before she spoke to her. Hmm, she had a BIG scoop of her own ice cream, so surely she wouldn't want any of Bernie's, and she was interested in reading, or at least what she was reading. Well, she could be alright.
"Now That's What I Call Hogwarts, Vol. 100," Bernie announced, tipping the book up so the other girl could read the spine. "It has the SCOOP on everything that's happened there in the last 100 years. Like, the SCOOP with SPRINKLES on TOP, ya know." Ya know? It had the DIRT. Pun intended!
