The moment Drew joined them, Missa felt an unfamiliar kind of guilt within her - because everything that had happened on the third floor was obviously still very vivid in her head. Unable to not not meet his eyes, the fourteen year old offered him an awkward smile in return.
But before she could offer an apology, the headmaster had started speaking. She felt both relieved and anxious. She wasn't sure what she had been expecting, but it certainly wasn't that. Or maybe she was simply a fool for expecting something more ... hopeful.
Stomach a bit in turns, she turned to look at Nettie and Drew again, "he didn't say anything about the missing kids at all"
