Simran was quite certain that she'd scheduled this for after dinner, but after hearing Miss Swann's answer, she could swear she heard her stomach growl. Hopefully none of the students heard that, it'd be terribly embarassing. "They sound delicious, Miss Swan."

The five Cs of unhealthy eating. Man, did she miss junk food.

As for the next question, Cordelia once again had no idea what all the real answers were but she was pretty sure one was a cauldron. She slammed the buzzer for Gryffindor. ”There are actually seven Cs.” Like the seven seas, get it? ”Cauldron cakes, confusion, calamity, concern, crying, and capitulation.” Cauldron cakes was one item but counted as two because of the double C. The rest of the steps more or less represented her approach to difficult homework assignments. Don’t know what to do, get frustrated, throw a fit, give up. Cordelia Winklebleck was a quitter on things she didn’t want to do in the first place, but never on the things she genuinely cared about.

Simran did get it, actually, and had to cover her mouth as a wide grin split her face, wrinkles now in full view. The pride in her heart, that this kid didn't get discouraged -- too much to bear. Also the pride at her actual answer was pretty big too.

"Definitely a potion-brewing mood, Miss Winklebleck."

Potions was never her best subject in school.

Before he knew it, the second question was asked and he reached forward and slammed the button for Ravenclaw "consideration, constructive, eeeehh..." Merlin's Beard it was difficult to come up with words starting with a C at the top of his head! "Ehm ..oh! Confidence, connection and uh...." just one more word... "Cabbage!" ...what?

Well, Simran couldn't have told you this at the beginning of Class, Mr Katharos, but the key is to be as crazy as possible while just barely remaining within the realm of possibility. Just wild enough that it might almost be a serious answer to the question, that was the ideal.

She was proud to hear the answer, though she couldn't at all relate to any confidence nor connection during potion-brewing. The last C, however, did elicit a bark of laughter.

"And cabbage, of course. The most important C of potion-brewing."

He thought about watching the quiz bowl for a few rounds to see if it would put him on a competitive mood.

Except, perhaps, this wasn't the typical quiz bowl one would expect. Was it? Drewett wouldn't have expected that from Professor Sandhu. She always seemed to have a knack for adding an interesting twist to her lessons. He shouldn't have been surprised with the twist right there either.

Also??? Dia??? What kind of an answer was that? Drewett gave the younger Gryffindor a look from where he was seated, at the end of the Ravenclaw table. It was pretty ridiculous in a good way. Creative. Out of this world. Not one he'd have expected from the second year, if he were to be honest. It was also quite...what would the word be for it? Alarming? Something like that. Let's be real, though. Maxie's answer was a nice one too. Deserving of the win.

Drewett briefly glanced at Nina and nodded towards her as an invitation to sit. He wasn't joining, but he wasn't also going to stand there in the corner. This wasn't his type of quiz bowl. But that didn't mean he wouldn't be part of the audience.

She was keeping an eye on you, Mr Gunter. Watching you. Aaaaaalways watching.

And also grateful that someone else was trying to convince Ms Castillo to sit down.

"Now, as I'm sure you all know, the actual 5Cs of Potion-Brewing are Cleanliness, content, color, concentration, and care." That being said, she did have to pick just one house to give the point to, and there was really no question of which one that would be. "I loved all of these, and I'm proud of you all for thinking so quickly. However, congratulations, Miss Winklebleck. You've earned the first ten points to Gryffindor."

"Don't panic, there's still a lot more questions to be asked," she said, eyeing the Slytherin table especially. Some input from them would be nice. "Try to still keep the answer at least somewhat related to the questions, dears."

"For ten points -- What destroyed the diadem of Ravenclaw?"

And with that, the board was updated once more. Would anyone say Deez Knuts?
