"You're not the only ones who've been in that mist, you know," Archer replied to the obnoxious Slytherin (and yes, she did realize the irony). "You personally are just the only one that's using it as an excuse to be a jerk," and she was only using the word jerk because there were ickles around "to everyone around. Of course, I didn't mean flying through the stuff, I meant flying over it. This may be our only chance before it starts expanding upwards and through the school, you know." And she was pretty sure there were others who would agree that they needed to GET THE HECK OUT OF DODGE.
Wait, the Headmaster was agreeing with the obnoxious one? It was enough to make her want to give a scream of frustration. But as one of the older students and a prefect to boot, she thought better of it. All she could do at this point was hope that the mist didn't-wait, what? Okay, first of all, finally an adult with their head screwed on straight. Second, the Headmaster had a Floo in his office? "Ooo, great idea!" She didn't necessarily like Floo travel, but desperate times, right?
Only the Headmaster was shutting down that idea too, in favor of.......waiting for the ministry?! "Yeah, because governments are always interested in helping kids and teenagers....." This time she did let out a huff of frustration as the one adult with an actual GOOD idea backed down and basically became the same eager to please witch she had been during the Scrimgeour regime. "So...what are going to do when the mist decides to spread further through the castle and the Ministry still doesn't come?" she asked calmly. Because they wouldn't.
Merlin, it'd been a miracle if she lived to see graduation. And she'd been soooo close.....
