Default 'Good Omens' by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (Sa13+) [SPOILERS]

Welcome to The Book Seekers' first Book of the Month discussion! If you don't know what Book of the Month is, there's more information here, but in a nutshell it is a monthly event during which we all read the same book and discuss it here.

As you can see, this month we're reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett!

Age Rating | Sa13+
Genre | Fantasy
Summary from Goodreads | According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist...

Let's go over some ground rules...
  • All Book Club Rules and SnitchSeeker Board Rules apply in this forum.
  • You can discuss ANYTHING that is related to Good Omens in here. However, it must be kept SPOILER FREE until July 15th. Any spoiler-y things must be put under a spoiler tag. Remember that other people might not have read as far along as you.
    • Any posts that contain spoilers (that aren't under spoiler tags) will be edited by a Book Club mod.
  • On July 15th, a more structured discussion will start. At this point, spoilers WILL be allowed. This discussion will continue (officially) until August 11th. That being said, the thread will remain open for everyone to discuss the book after the main discussion is over.

There's more? There is! While we're reading and discussing Good Omens, there are other related things that you can get involved with.

  • If you're feeling really, really inspired, you could try your hand at designing an alternative pair of book covers for Good Omens. You can use whichever medium you want. It can be inspired by the TV adaptation. Post them in this thread and/or the Bookish Fan Art thread.
