We can fly over this cursed mist. Get on-"
Before she could finish her sentence, what seemed like a miracle happened. A competent grown up appeared. One of her colleagues. His earlier shout had been ignored by Alice, who assumed it was part of her madness. But now he was standing right in front of them m. It was impossible to deny he was real.
Alice hastily straightened herself, trying to ignore both the countdown and her headache. She allowed herself to be comforted with the realization that the crowds of chanting people had to be fake, or else Thereos would have acknowledged them. "THEREOS!" she exclaimed, wincing in discomfort at her throbbing head. "Thank Merlin you're here! I think there are students in the water! I tried to help them, but someone attacked me. I am hallucinating, Thereos, and I think Miss Abara is, too."
And his judgmental look was the least of her concerns. He could judge her after they helped the students. |
