Nyx was one of the first players here - not a surprise. She usually was. What else was she going to do after she woke up? Sit around and just wait for practice to start when she could just start practicing herself?

Today was different, though. Nyx actually had...nerves. She'd always had complete and total faith in her team. She had been SURE they would make it to the cup, and as they had breezed through the playoffs, her confidence only soared. Now that the big day was here, however...Nyx couldn't help but feel jittery. It was unsettling. Nyx Higgs did NOT get game day jitters, yet here she was, practically sweating as she walked out on the pitch.

Perhaps it was because she put so much pressure on herself. Or perhaps it was because she knew that the majority of the outcome of this game came down to her. Or...perhaps it was the fact that she knew that an entire COUNTRY was counting on her now. She'd always felt a need to make England proud but...this was a whole new level of pressure she had never experienced.

Still, the nerves were not showing on the woman's face as she stepped out to the pitch, the first English player to take the field. She gave a cordial nod to the man from the Indian team who was already there before taking a spot on the opposite end of the field and began to stretch. She turned her wrist up and down, left and right, preparing herself for the reflexes she could need to be successful in this game.
