"It did actually, my thoughts were all over the place whenever i tried to meditate but this book taught me how to focus and not only did i benefit from getting better at meditation i'm also getting better at casting spells" he grinned. Since a lot of spells required focus. "Jessa actually gave me the advice of meditating in my second year" he added, not that it mattered but he felt like he had to add that piece of information as well, seeing as she had helped him big time by just saying a few words of advice.
. . . . so she had noticed he had not mentioned Muggle Studies. Well, at least she didn't seem dissapointed which made him relax again and he crossed his ankles as he leaned forward to see the list she was writing down on the notepad. "Healer?" he repeated as he looked up. "Don't i need exceed expectations or outstanding for all these subjects?" the thought alone scared him. "But...i've always wanted to help others in some way. I never thought about a Healer though..." And Muggle Expert also sounded okay but "I'm not sure i want to work at the Ministry to be honest" He said slowly and added "Maybe a Healer who specialises in muggles?" he let out a laugh again. "no i almost forgot there are doctors in the muggle world" a doctor and healer were completely different things, well their methods were different but they had the same goal which was helping and curing the sick. "Do you have more information about how to become a Healer?" he asked. "I'm not saying i want to become one but i want to keep this option open"
Kay actually had no idea when exactly she would see Foster again but they still kept in contact. Once she mentioned she had the book to return, no doubt they would be able to meet. She listened with interest to Dorian. “It’s nice to know that meditation helps. I’ve never tried it myself but I’ll give it a try in the near future. Oh, she did? You hadn’t put the advice to use at the time, did you?’’ “I understand not everyone wants to be stuck at the Ministry. Truth be told, neither did I.’’ It was all about what made you happy, after all. “I think that’s an excellent point to start. Wanting to help people makes you think about all the possibilities that you could do.’’ Kay grinned. “That’s right. Not to mention should you wish to be a doctor, you would have to go through years and years of medical studies and training. The process can be exhausting.’’ This wasn’t discouragement, it was the facts. Even though a a young girl she had played an entertaining game of weltschmerz dress up and posed as a doctor with a stethoscope, she knew she didn't have what it took to be one. “That’s fine. I think a Healer would be a wonderful choice. You have the skills and a warming personality that would make those in discomfort feel at ease. Should you choose to pursue that career, you would need to secure at least five N.E.W.T.s, with either Outstanding or Exceeds Expectations in Potions, Transfiguration, Herbology, Charms, and DADA.” |
