As for his clothing, he often wears soft sweaters and old jeans, if not wearing his magical clothing, which usually just consists of a black work robe, white shirt, and trousers.

Job Description: Astronomers are an entry level position. They serve as assistants to the Evolutionists in the study of celestial bodies and their motions. These Unspeakables' primary task is to monitor celestial movements and report any abnormal anomalies to the supervising Evolutionist. Astronomers must be methodical in their work and keep careful record of daily celestial movements as well as lunar cycles, filing daily (sometimes hourly reports during such events as an eclipse or whenever deemed necessary by supervising Evolutionists and/or the Department Head). Knowledge in Magical Theory is a must. A minimum O grade in NEWT level Astronomy, as well an E grade in NEWT level Charms is required. They must also have at least 2 other NEWT level subjects.

Personality: Lyra is a very intelligent and quick thinker, always wanting to know more. Because of this, he is an avid researcher, always answering questions and solving any problem that is put in front of him. On that note, he does have a problem with being too quick to correct others and refusing to consider the opinions of others because they disagree with his.
History: Lyra's parents met when his dad, Ezra Woods, was on a trip to America with the MOM Department of Magical Cooperation. His mother, Sarah Edgefield, who was working with MACUSA at the time, fell madly in love with Ezra and they were married within a year. Ezra had two half-blood parents and was brought up in a magical setting, while Sarah was a Muggleborn. They attempted to mix the two ways of raising a child throughout Lyra's life, making sure he was around both muggles and wizards. Just a year before Lyra was ready for his magical education, they decided they wanted him to go to Ezra's school, Hogwarts, so they moved to a suburb of London in the months leading to his Eleventh birthday. Lyra was sorted into Ravenclaw and quickly found an aptitude for Astronomy, never getting anything lower than an O in the class. When he reached his third year, he also found he was excellent at Ancient Runes and Arithmancy, quickly making these three subjects his top priority. After graduating Hogwarts, he went to London Wizarding University for five years and getting degrees in both Astronomy and Ancient Runes. While he was in University he was working an internship at an Astronomy lab or running a tutoring service for his best subjects. After getting his degrees, he floated around trying to get jobs he wasn't qualified for until he was 27 when he finally sucked it up and applied for the ministry.
Former Occupation(s): He ran a tutoring service for extra money during his first year of college, 2089. The service was somewhat successful until he stopped to focus on an internship at an Astronomy laboratory from 2090-2093. He went back to the tutoring service after the internship ended, going until 2094.
