Caolan wasn’t big on being the first person to answer a question, nor was he one of these enthusiastic raise your hand and wave it in the air type of people every time a question was asked but this school seemed to have given him a bit of a confidence boost when it came to his education. He wasn’t dumb by any means, in fact arguably he was quite intelligent, he just hadn’t put as much effort into his school work than he perhaps should have. The professor praised his answer and his body visibly relaxed, a small smile gracing his face.
The lesson moved on and the smile fell momentarily from his face. What was this? A treasure hunt for kids? He got that some of these students were only 11 years old but did they really have to waste time looking for a rock?
He wrinkled his nose and headed off in the direction of the lake looking for the ‘perfect’ pebble. Or really just any old stone that looked like it could do and an ordinary stick. He was really into Astronomy but making sundials wasn’t on his agenda. |
