Even if you didn’t know much about Stars, you do now. ” He said with a soft laugh as he looked around. “A few of you mentioned that we have a star close to us, and that is of course the Sun, which is why this lesson is taking place outside, in the afternoon and why we aren’t up in the Astronomy Tower at Midnight making star charts.” He grinned as he looked at them. “Now I could launch into a lengthy lecture about the sun, and bore most of you to tears, but I’m not going to do that.
Today at least.
We will be studying the sun for the next few months as there is too much to learn for one lesson, so be sure to read up on the sun in your books for future lessons.
Today however. ” He paused as he looked at them. “We are going to be looking at the practical uses of the sun. So tell me, How is the sun useful to us in our world, you can tell me modern uses, or old time uses, but how we we make use of this star we call the Sun? ” He asked with a smile. OOC: Thank you guys so much for your participation! We, Kalen and I really appreciate it! The question for this part of the lesson is “How is the sun useful to us.” Thanks! You will have 36 hours ish To answer this before we move on. Though Steph could do star charting faster than anyone she knew, talking about the sun wasn't much of her favorite. Mainly because she couldn't talk to anyone about how useful a star could be. "Back in ancient times, when people used a sundial to tell time, it was the sun's positioning that would cast the shadow onto the dial. To this day, people can use the sun to tell time without a sundial. If the sun is positioned right above you, its 12 noon. to your left, morning. To your right, afternoon," Though Steph would never recommend looking directly at the sun. Permanent damage that way. "Sunlight also helps plants grow on Earth, which is useful to humans. It also provides us with light during nights when the sunlight reflexes off the moon," Nod nod. "Also, sunlight helps bring up levels of serotonin in your body, which help improve your mood," Okay, Stephanie, that was enough.
BUT YAS THEY'RE MAKING SUNDIALS!
Stephanie wasted no time in heading off on her own and looking for the materials she'd need. Though her best bet to find a flat rock would be by the lake so she stayed around the section first. She doubted it would be hard to find a long stick near the trees.
