Chloe didn't bother to offer an explanation, but if she expected anything to come of what was clearly a very dark and dire situation, she was disappointed. But at this point, Chloe was always disappointed at Hogwarts. For the first time in her history at that school, she wanted to just be gone. Gone home, gone back to her grandmother's, gone anywhere but here.
Jessa was dismissed, but Chloe wasn't... but since no one had even spoken to her... she rose silently to her feet and followed the Head Girl. She paused to touch Professor Gaston's arm as she passed. Apologies, sir, because as much as she wanted him to fight harder, at this point, he was the only one fighting at all.
Chloe followed after Jessa. She ought to make sure the girl didn't keel over and die from neglect.
