More people had come to join the meeting in the RoR, both people Stas recognized and some she wasn’t entirely familiar with. Aside from the fact she thought she’d seen them in Hogsmeade and they were acting like they’d been there all along…but she really didn’t remember them. It was weird, and therefore she was going to make sure she stayed close to Rylee just in case. That and she’d given a reassuring smile to Abra as he’d begun gravitating their way. Yes to Gryffindor solidarity.

Except then Archer had brought the meeting to a start, and her earlier suspicions were proven correct. Not only that, but her fellow Gryffindor leader had made a quick escape back outside the room with Bel, which she didn’t really blame them for. If it hadn’t been for her little ginger Lion, she’d probably have second-guessed her decision to come too. Plus, she wasn’t half as confident with the Hufflepuff’s spellcasting on the room to protect them.

At least she had proven almost without a doubt that the phoenix wasn’t in any way related to the hawks. “I’m not entirely sure the professors aren’t already crazy,” she admitted after a moment. She hadn’t taken her squirrel necklace off when the contraband list had gone up, or her bracelet from her father either, but she wasn’t making it obvious. Especially since she wasn’t about to risk confiscation, and she also wasn’t going to break Professor Marchand’s heart any more than she already had. “I got an account of everything that had gone on before the holidays out of the castle and sent to someone I trust, that might be able to get it to Headmistress Hawthorne.” While they were confessing things. She didn’t doubt that Hirsch would have relayed her information to the headmistress, either, even without having asked him to explicitly.

While she was all for the niffler idea, she was still not entirely convinced that direct rebellion would work. “They aren’t putting wrongdoers into detention. Not really. I’m pretty sure most of the detentions that have happened lately haven’t been because of people doing anything wrong, and I don’t know that Hanna isn’t right about them using the Imperius curse on us either.” She was 90% certain that Professor Le Roux, at least, was a Dark wizard, and she was pretty sure that, even if the headmaster had been a former Auror, he’d gone bad since.
