Val arrived at the Food Court for the yearly return, he could spot the newer employees or at least some of the folks he had never seen before from previous functions. He saw the familiar folks as well, his Head specially and the new Minister who everyone was crowding around. Rather than follow the trend, he took a drink and settled by the sides.

If you had asked Dara a mere months ago the thought on joining the Ministry was far from her mind. But times changed, along with many things in her life. Good things. It was a time to settle, she would have to let Art know how things went tonight, of course, but she remained optimistic about everything. She saw the Minister looked fairly preoccupied with everyone so she gave him a smile incase they made eye contact. They would run into each other again fairly soon, she imagined.
