| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Wincing slightly that his History of Magic professor still didn't know his last name, Derf kept the correcting to himself for now. Did not seem the time nor the place for it and, honestly, there were a lot more pressing matters at hand. Plus, well, that look from the Headmaster had caused the words to catch in his throat temporarily*
"I said I thought it may have just been us four, professor," he repeated meekly and completely unnecessarily.
His mind a complete mess, one feeling and thought contradicting the other, it was the blanket statement by the Professor O'Hara of the man forcing them to do something that set the Hufflepuff off. The man was holding no one at wand point and telling them to drink or else. Had...they not been listening to he and Jessa? Choices had been offered and each person had made a decision on their own and ---
His blood ran cold and surely...SURELY this was what it was like having a dementor over your shoulder.
He did not see Jessa's look as his face was drained of any color which only brought more attention to the manner in which his blue eyes had widened. Everyone was going to find out what he had done. Everyone. And he had to stand there, beside a man he did not respect nor did he feel was a better option to run the school, and watch in real time the consequences of his actions. His heart sunk in his chest as he took a step forward, his feet positively dragging against the stone floor as he followed the man and Jessa.
He still had the stance that food and drink had no place in a classroom, that much was certain. He always had since first year. Everyone knew that. Conspiracy theories aside, it was a genuine dislike. But...and his eyes glanced over at the letter in the Headmaster's hand just KNOWING what it was before actually knowing...it was a petty thing to get someone fired over.
........and that was exactly what he had caused to happen.
