Jessa had had enough of those in charge taking things she worked hard for. "I'll go have a look when I go to check on Dexter. It'll be good to have him socialize with it too so he can be used to it when they're all each other has left." Wayland wasn't entirely sure it would be possible but it was better to take the precaution. No sense trying to suddenly make her not so baby aethonan friends with another horse at the last minute. That had bad idea written all over it.
The fact he didn't entirely freak at her latter statement was one of the reasons she genuinely liked the man. Taking Einstein and trying to mirco-manage her experiments in the start aside, he was actually pretty understanding about things. She stood to leave, figuring she would hit the stables while she was out here when another thought struck her. "Hawthorne's gone....and so is Hirsch. It might be a bit much to ask, but, if it ever came to it...would you help me keep Archimedes and Tiberius?" Her undead felines had come a long way, to the point you'd never know they were dead unless she told you and it spoke to the amount of work she put in. Literal years of work. "They were sanctioned by both....I just...don't want Headmaster Scrimgeour getting any ideas."
And she wasn't of the impression she was in any position to defend herself or her babies. Some backup would be nice. "Your welcome." Tristan said with a nod and a small smile. He was glad to see the tension release from her shoulders. He knew how all of these new rules were affecting everyone and wasn't surprised of her concern about her winged horse. He would probably be knocking down the door of his creatures professor had something like this happened during his time at Hogwarts. "Sounds good to me. If you need any help just let me know. Socializing with horses of any breed is always good so you know how they treat each other. Some horses can be down right mean, so I totally agree with you wanting to do that." He had seen too many broken wings, bites, and even broken legs on Winged or non-winged horses, so her plan was definitely good. Tristan hoped she found a horse that mixed well with Dexter.
Tristan watched as the head girl stood to leave and listened to her request. Though he didn't agree with her experiments, he understood how much she cared for the undead cats. "Of course, Jessa. If Headmistress Hawthorne and Professor Hirsch both allowed it, then I will too." He wasn't sure if that defined his loyalties to the young lady, but he was sure she would get the hint. He had none towards Scrimgeour. Quote:

He was struggling trying to figure it all out as an adult, they were far too young to be dealing with it.
His eyes followed Tristan's glance to the mantle and noticed the picture of the two professors. "Oh, I do apologize if I upset him. I had no intentions other than simply getting to know you better." He did not need another enemy or battle on his hands. "You two do make a lovely couple." He smiled at the joy and love on Tristan's face. It was certainly a welcomed happiness in the chaos of the year.
He sat his plate on the table and stood up. "I really must be going. Thank you so much for meeting with me and giving me a second chance." It was going to be a long year and he needed to know he was fighting for the right side. Tristan looked over at the other man and gave him a small sad smile. "Be glad that you can't." The anxiety of it all was slowly eating at Tristan and he wasn't sure what he would do if any of the old crew were to be sacked. He wasn't sure he could handle it. "I know that, no reason to apologize." Tristan said with a smirk. They actually hadn't told any of the staff yet, mostly to keep things discreet. "Thank you. It was...a long time coming." He said with a small smile, looking down at his hands, hoping he hadn't made a mistake in telling Foster this. They barely knew each other. "Of course, I believe in second chances for those that are deserving," Tristan replied with a smile as he stood. He frowned just slightly before saying, "Foster, I would really appreciate if you kept what I just told you about Kalen and myself quiet. You are the only one that knows, and we want to keep things discreet. It's new...most of our friends don't even know yet." Tristan hoped the man understood how much trust he was putting in Foster at the moment. He put his hand out to shake the other man's hand, as if that would seal some sort of secret pact between them.
