Patrick’s eyes tracked the young girl who sat herself down near him. He figured she had to be a newer student as he hadn’t seen her before. Then he noticed that she took in the badge. He was soooo ready to take the stupid thing off. It’s no wonder his brothers never wanted to be quodpot captain. All this attention just cause you were the head of a team. But even if she was staring at the badge he figured he should take what Skylar has said to heart and make a new friend. “Hey there, Patrick Dooley. Don’t know that I’ve seen ya here before.” The southern accent shining through... although he figured he’d lose it shortly.

Things felt kind of different thanks to the new badge pinned on his chest though. Good different or bad different? He hadn't made up his mind yet.

Honestly, after the whole fiasco on the train he was still wondering if there had been some kind of mistake and was half tempted to ask and double check with Professor Kennedy. A quick glance up at the staff table was enough to change his mind though, noooope there was no way he was going up there.

Instead, he made his way apprehensively towards the Slytherin table and plopped himself down. He wasn't really one for bright, over the top greetings so anyone nearby just received a nod.

Good evening from Mr. Sociable.
Patrick noticed Max walk into the great hall and sit down a few seats away. He had come in and left the prefects compartment so quick he hadn’t gotten a chance to offer him even so much as a congratulations. While he didn’t know Max extremely well he figured he knew him well enough to at least holler down the table to congratulate him.

He scooted down the bench a bit. “Hey Maxton, congrats on bein’ made prefect. You’ll do great!” He hoped he wasn’t too mad on him intruding on his alone time before others joined them.
