urine trouble | Pat's Strong Confident Other Half | Pees Like a Champion Unicorn Racehorse This is it, this is it, this is it....
Lucas was a whole mix of emotions as he squelched his way up to the spot where the Sorting Ceremony was taking place. First, he was nervous because this is HOGWARTS and what if he doesn't get sorted into a house? What then?? Would he get kicked out? Forced to go back home and live a Muggle life? But then again, he was also excited because this is HOGWARTS. Ever since he'd heard stories about it and ever since Emma got to come here, he'd been looking forward to coming here himself. He could experience everything first hand for himself and use his wand and, uh, make friends.
But then, he was also slightly scared of the fact that currently, all eyes were on him - or that's what it felt like. It didn't really help that while the poncho kept his top half dry, the rain still soaked the bottom of his robes and trousers and even his socks! He was going to get Sorted in wet socks that made squelching sounds and made everyone LOOK at him.
Could he run back? Could he go and sit next to Emma? She wouldn't mind and then he won't have to deal with..... this.
Reaching the place where all the professors and this Sorting Hat was taking place, Lucas stood there. Awkwardly. It was then that he suddenly became uncomfortably aware of how big this hall was and how many people were sitting there. Sitting and staring directly at HIM THEM. His palms were starting to feel sweaty even though his wet socks were making his legs shake. And could they open a few windows? There was hardly any air in- "Dakest, Lucas!"
Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no.
That was him! He was Lucas!
Oh no oh no.
Could he puke? He wanted to puke.
His feet seemed to be working on its own as he moved forwards because his brain was.... screaming. Loudly. Before he knew it, he had plopped himself down on the stool after what seemed like a very long walk. He caught a quick glimpse of people LOOKING at him before the hat was placed on his head. Well, the hat that fell over his eyes and, he was pretty sure, was squashing his curly hair.
But at least he couldn't SEE everyone looking at him. He could block that out. It was just him.... and this hat. This old- 'Hmmm. Another Dakest, eh?'
..........
Lucas froze. Did the hat just speak? Was he going mad?! Because this piece of fabric was talking to him, directly into his ear, and he was starting to get very creeped out. It felt as if the thing, whatever it was, was RIGHT THERE next to him. Too close to him.
How do you tell a talking hat to back off? 'Don't worry so much. You're in safe hands, though I have none.'
Um. Okay. That sounded fake. The safe part. Fake. 'Moving ON,' Lucas could physically feel a sigh coming from the hat. Do talking hats sigh? He didn't know. '.... it's remarkable how different you are from your sister and yet, so alike in so many ways. You might want to keep that in mind in times of trouble.'
Uh, say what? Lucas furrowed his eyebrows. Trouble? TROUBLE?! He opened his mouth to ask the hat what it meant by 'trouble' but the hat was moving on. 'You possess traits similar to your mother's.' Lucas physically beamed. 'That strong sense of loyalty, for one. But you also possess more qualities from your father than you'd care to admit.' And instantly, that smile was gone. He physically squirmed in his seat, clutching onto the stool a little tighter than he should've. 'But where to put you? Hmmmm.... yes.... yes..... Hufflepuff would be a very good fit for you. Very good fit, indeed. But do you truly belong there? Hmmmm.... You need some character building. You're a lot braver than you think and it's time you started believing it.'
Brave? No, not him. Was there another Lucas here that it could be talking about? ‘No, this is about you. You’ve got a fire in you, there’s no doubt about that....’
The Hat was taking a long time in deciding. Lucas felt as though he'd been sitting there for a long time. A VERY long time. What if he didn't belong anywhere? Was there a house for people who were always nervous and didn't like talking to strangers and just wanted cuddles from their older sister? Because that was him. 'Hmm.... yes, yes I know just where to put you. Better be......'
Lucas's heart skipped a beat. His knuckled turned white and his fingers were starting to hurt from digging into the stool but he didn't care. This is it, this is it 'GRYFFINDOR!'
Relief.
The beam was back because hey, guess what? He was in the same house as EMMA! There was a sudden burst of applause and, in any other situation, he would've squirmed at that too but not this time. This time, all he could think about was being Sorted and getting through the Sorting and sharing a common room with his sister!
The hat was pulled off his head and he stood up to go and sit on the table with the lion and the red ties. The table that was making a LOT of noise. Louder than anyone else in the Hall.
....... Uh oh.
