St. Mungo's Hospital To enter the premises of St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, one need only find a large, old-fashioned, red brick department store called Purge and Dowse Ltd. in Muggle London and step through the glass display window featuring a dummy modelling a green dress. Upon stepping through the threshold, the world you can from will have disappeared and you will find yourself in the crowded reception area that doubles as a visitors' entrance and an emergency room waiting area. There you need to speak to the Welcome Witch or wait for a Healer to collect you.
Past the reception desk and through a set of double doors lies the gateway to the rest of the hospital. The ground floor, lit by floating candles in crystal bubbles, is the Artefact Accidents corridor where the Healers deals with cauldron explosions, wands backfiring, broom crashes, etc. At the end of the corridor is another set of double doors, which beyond is a staircase that provides access to the remaining floors -- first floor, Creature-Induced Injuries; second floor, Magical Bugs and Diseases; third floor, Potions and Plant Poisoning; and fourth floor, Spell Damage.
Each floor contains a fair amount of rooms, long-term wards, and portraits. There is also bound to be a wandering patient or two. The fifth floor of the hospital, however, is less chaotic and provides a tearoom for visitors to relax as well as a shop that sells cards, balloons, and other gifts. Also located on this floor is the Midwife/Infant Care wing, a Healer break room (with sleep pods and locker rooms), and the administration offices.
