Her parents were probably gloating, or actually not, because they were Hufflepuffs. Hufflepuffs were about the most genuine and least boastful people at Hogwarts and beyond.

She probably should have gone over to write in the memory book before the queue got long from her fellow graduates, but right now she was exhausted. Exhausted and her bum still ached....... why was there a bird in the Great Hall?

o.o

An owl landed right in front of her, dropping off a rather official looking letter. Oh no. She probably shouldn't open it, because last time she did that on her broom at the final quidditch match and ended up fainting off her broom. Big mistake; don't read and fly at the same time.

Yet the return address was Paris, which meant ... she'd already been accepted to their journalism program and withdrew from the magizoology and wandlore programs. There was only one program left to hear back from Paris about. Paris. Which made her think of him; someone who apparently used her and seemed to fake it with her. With a resolved sigh she made the decision just now that she couldn't go to Paris. He ripped her heart out and going to Paris would mean being forced to think of him all the time, which wasn't conducive to studying. So the contents didn't really matter, but for the sake of it, she opened the letter and read.

Finally, some good news

She set it down, glancing around the hall, inhaling and exhaling. Not really feeling light chatter just yet. She just wanted to take in her surroundings. Savor them. And try not to cry too much because she was a strong young woman, who was also simultaneously broken.

Patrick's eyes followed Flynn as he stood. Shaking his head, oh how he wanted to be as cool as Flynn. Now he was aglad he wasn't because it very well could have been him walking away like that. His attention was grabbed when Skylar sat down at the table without so much as a word. He hadn't seen her this quiet in ages. Although now that he thought about it he wasn't sure what to say to her.

She had been one of the first faces that he had met. He ended up playing quidditch with her for two terms, having guiding advice from her. What were you actually supposed to say to someone like that when you were really sad that they were going to be leaving. "Hey Skylar. Good news?" he asked seeing the owl drop something in front of her. He was too observant. One day it was going to get him in trouble.

Patrick's attention shifted to the Bloody Baron. His stomach let another growl out. Heat started to rise in Patrick's cheeks. He had eaten breakfast, but it seemed like he was always hungry. He was terrified he might be growing again. At 5'6" currently he was still on the rise according to his mama and he was certainly looking forward to the day where he would no longer have to worry about eating all day.

"Sorry Sir. I ate breakfast, but since i'm in this weird growth spurt I'm hungry all the time. It's never ending."
He shrugged his shoulders, "if I could I would make it stop."
