With the severed parchment in hand she nodded. "I'm ready." Watching as Marchand made black dotted lines appear on the fabric. "Okay.." Raising her wand she created the little 'v' shape with a tail. "Diffindo!" Slowly she moved her wand over the dotted line she needed to cut. Then she repeated the process once more along the other line. "There!" She beamed brightly holding up the pieces she had cut.

The offer to play with Phantom had Gaston smiling almost as widely as Rylee. "That's very kind of you; I think Phantom would like that," he replied. "She could use the interaction; most of the cat friends she had felt Hogwarts." The girl's next question got a laugh from him as he recalled Phantom's younger days. "She did occasionally. She used to like knocking things off of shelves and counters... broke quite a few coffee cups when she was a kitten, not to mention my mother's china figurine collection." She used to drive his mother crazy! "Thankfully she grew out of that. The worst she does now is steal things out of the laundry." Well, that and attack anything she thought was taking up too much of his attention.

He nodded in reply as Rylee mentioned the photos. "Of course, I'd love to see them," he said. He was intrigued by the idea of pet foxes, but he didn't have much time to think about it now, as the girl was asking about the ribbon spell he just performed. "Sure!" he said. "Just remember that it's a very complex spell - it both conjures the ribbons and animates them - and will require lots of practice to get right." He didn't want her to get discouraged if she couldn't do it right away! "I'm sure you'll find good use for it."

Gaston laughed along with Rylee. He half expected her to mention treats again, and his eyes darted toward the closed door, anticipating Phantom's reaction. Luckily, that didn't happen, and the cat remained relatively quiet except for the occasional thump that accompanied her chasing the ribbons. "That's true, and we can always give her more ribbons if we need to," he said, smiling at the thought of his own little Phantom dressed in a cape and hat like the Phantom of the Opera. He'd have to send his other a picture of that!

But there were more important matters to attend to at the moment, namely Neptune's cape. Gaston beamed when Rylee showed him the two pieces of fabric she'd cut. "Excellent job, Rylee!" he said. "Now we'll move on to the stitching charm. May I please borrow your cape for a minute?"He'd need it for the demonstration.
