Quinn blinked casually up at the man, convinced fully he had it in for her for some reason. It was abundantly clear in the way he seemed so intent on finding a single bent page or crease in which to punish her for.

And now she was being lectured for not even harming the books. And it wasn't a complicated spell. The enchantments on her book that let her copy other books into it, that was complicated. And she hadn't cast those, as she had just stated plainly. Imogen Greyvson had cast those. Quinn had assisted her in looking up latin for the incantations, but the actual spellcasting? The majority of figuring out the spells and enchantments? No. That had been all her neighbor.

The actual copying was so easy Imogen had enchanted a common stixk to do the job before Quinn had her wand.

But it was clear he didn't want to know anything about that. Or her really. He'd made up his mind and nothing was going to change that.

She bit her lip and slid her book back in her bag, coolly. "Apologies Professor. I was unaware it was against the rules to check out books from the library." Because wasn't that what his objection boiled down to? Naturally no person could check out every book at once, but she honestly wasn't either. Every book was available on the shelf for another kid to check out. Nor had she tried to sneak into the restricted section to copy those. So what this boiled down to is him saying she couldn't work her way through the library checking out book after book until she'd checked out and read every non-restricted book her, or quite simply, it was apparently against the rules for her to check out books.

And obviously she wouldn't be able to copy the books with anti-copying charms.

She blinked up at him a moment longer and gave him a perfect curtsy. "Since that is the case, I shall bid you a good day, Professor."

She slipped past the man, careful not to brush against him or the books on the shelves, least she lose points for that.
