Initially, Regina simply let the students get to work -- giving Maddie a shake of her head, indicating that the headmistress wasn't going to partner up with any student today -- and figure out the runes on their own. It was all part of the learning process: cognitive thinking and problem solving. The woman was just being a bystander at this point, seeing how well everyone faired off.

But, of course, the woman began walking around the room after a few minutes. As much as she wanted the students to figure things out on their own, she didn't want them totally going in the wrong direction. So, she was there to guide those who needed it and praise those who were on the right track.

Her first stop was with Anabeth. Looking over the girl's notes, the headmistress smiled. For her analysis of the hinge strap, she certainly had the two runes that were blinded together. The question now was whether or not Thurisaz was paired with Isa or Kenaz. "I would consider going with your first rune combination for the hinge strap, Miss Greyvson," Regina hinted, since Kenaz would have been noticeable had it been paired with Thurisaz. As for her question, she responded, "No Merstaves today."

She then moved on to Daehyun. The smile was still on her face as she looked over the second year's notes, only focusing on the list of runes and their meaning -- time for figuring out the purpose of the bind rune as a whole would be coming soon enough. "Well done, Mr. Yoon." He had identified the correct runes for the hinge strap and golden pendant. "Care to look at another one of the objects?"

Up next was Stasya, who, the woman had noticed, had been rather quiet today. Regardless, she looked over the Gryffindor's notes for the peninsular brooch and the golden pendant. "Excellent work, Miss Dalgaard-Volkova. I see no errors here. If you want to take a look at another of the objects, you still have plenty of time."

"So far so good, Mr. Carden," Regina reassured the fifth year Slytherin when she looked over what he had down so far. "For the hinge strap, a quick glance at one of our notes might be helpful." As for the second rune for the pendant, she was going to let him figure that one out on his own. The rune might be clearer if he pretended part of the Hagalaz rune wasn't there.

Vivian's notebook was the next to be examined. The headmistress nodded her head approvingly. "Very good, Miss Fairfield." If she wanted to give another bind rune a go, she was more than welcome to.

Then there was the sight of Zoryn, which seriously made the headmistress consider calling up the healer. This behaviour was ... odd. And not in the usual Zoryn-odd kind of way either. Yes, a visit to her office would definitely be happening sometime soon. In the meantime, the girl's work... "You're doing great so far, Miss Spinnet," the woman said with a smile. "You've correctly identified the runes in the pendant bind rune."

Following Zoryn came Regina. The headmistress gradually walked over to the fifth year Hufflepuff and looked over the work she had done so far. Most of what she had written down was accurate, but there was just one mistake. "I can definitely see where you are getting Uruz, Miss Amstern. Though I want you to look again, especially more so at the left side of the bind rune. Don't let the Wunjo lines confuse you." The bind rune for the regular brooch was possibly one of the harder ones to sort through.

Emmalyn was next, and the headmistress was rather impressed that the second year had taken a look at four out of the five bind rune options. The work, though, needed some tending to. Quality, not quantity, was what Regina cared about most. "Alright, Miss Walsh. There are a few things we need to fix. For your first object, the brooch, I would recommend working with Miss Amstern on that one." Since the fifth year was close to figuring that one out. "As for the arm ring, Algiz is definitely in there. For the latter two, Kenaz and Nauthiz are not present."

The headmistress then paid a visit to was the Head Boy. Regina carefully read through his notes for the first object listed and then said, "For the arm ring, Algiz is there." As for the second object, "Wunjo is certainly in the brooch bind rune. No Ansuz or Sowilo, I'm afraid."

The dynamic Hufflepuff duo, who she noted had been working together, was her next stop. Her eyes darted from Maddie's work to Derfael's and back and forth a few times, again only looking at the runes identified and their meanings. "I definitely like your observations for the hinge strap ... though Kena isn't part of the bind rune, Mr. Ashburry-Hawthorne. Just the two runes in that one. As for the golden pendant," she paused, looking over the fourth year's notes specifically, "you have the correct runes listed, though Isa isn't needed."

Earlier she purposefully had skipped over Jessa, knowing that the girl was likely will off without her. Nevertheless, her work did need to be checked over just in case there was a misconception. But, after looking over the Ravenclaw's notes, there weren't any. "Phenomenal work as always, Miss Cambridge."

Last but certainly not least was Valkyrie. Seeing the seventh year resting her eyes, the headmistress took that as the perfect opportunity to look over her notes. What she had written so far for the arm ring and golden pendant was accurate, though there were a few things to be fixed for the brooch. "Take another look at the brooch, Miss Atwater. Gebo is part of the bind rune, but the others you have listed, sadly, are not."

Regina then made her way up to the front of the classroom. After glancing down at her watch, she announced, "You have roughly five more minutes to wrap up your observations, ladies and gentlemen."

OOC: This is just an update post for the main activity. Everyone that has posted so far was mentioned somewhere, and you all are doing great! This is just a heads up that I will be moving the lesson along later tonight as planned or possibly tomorrow morning. If you need to wrap up or make a post with your character's observations, now would be time to do so. ^___^
