He turned to peer at her and felt himself instantly returning her grin, grateful that she'd chosen the seat beside him. Maybe boring old History of Magic wouldn't be so bad after all.

Oh good, she wouldn't have to pick up and move to a different seat then. Not that she thought Max would say that, even if he didn't want her to sit with him he was too nice to tell her to bug off. But he did look a bit sleepy. The class was starting though and there was something about Latin and ice cream and books and she tried to pay attention, though the sleepy fifth year next to her reminded her of something.

"Only vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavours." She pointed out quietly to Max and then added, "Too bad there's no pistachio." The emphasis on their code word was unmissable and Bel hid a smile. Just checking he wasn't that clone version of himself that Max had been talking about. The real Max COULD very well be back in bed getting an extra few hours of sleep after all.

Bel had no answer for the author question, not being a big fiction reader, but okay what in the what was a casual Friday? Bel had no clue since she treated Fridays pretty casually in general. All days were casual unless they were a special occasion, weren't they? She put her hand up to ask.

"Does casual Friday mean... we can casually just not go to class?" She wasn't being a smartypants either, legitimate question. What WAS casual Friday? Did they have to say 'sup peeps instead of good afternoon ladies and gentlemen? Not that she ever said that. It was usually some variant of g'day mate from the Australian expat.
