Okay. Not as awkward now that both of them were talking. And the smelling like a swamp was more of an expression - though there was a stench about him. Only natural, not like rolling around in the mud and whatever else left one smelling like daisies.
"Uuuuuuuuh...there was this grindylow...was trying to help it but got away......" he replied somewhat sheepishly. "I...um...erm...kinda came here to, you know, clean up and take a bubble bath..." Derf then moved to ruffle his hair, but doing so only resulted in him flicking mud and grit every which way much like a dog shaking itself off of water.
"Well...we were in the musical last term," he chuckled at Jessa's news delivery. "He really belt it out on stage so..." Derf wasn't too terribly surprised by this.
