His eyes fell to the papers on his desk and flicked his wand at them; they stacked themselves neatly in one corner. "No thanks necessary," he said, following the pair into the office. "It's my job to help you any way I can." He was never too busy to help a student!
He couldn't help but notice the boy looking at the potted flowers , and he thought he heard him mumble something about his grandparents. "You like those flowers?" he asked as he took his place in the large black leather chair behind the desk. "You're welcome to have one if you want." Oh, and that reminded him! "Would either of you like a chocolate before we start?" he offered, tilting the glass candy dish toward them. He was about to thank professor Marchand again, his lips parted to do so- but instead he just nodded gratefully.
At professor Marchand's question, he nodded enthusiastically, but there was no way he could accept one of those beauties. "I wouldn't want to kill it, though... In between all classes, I'm neglecting my owl enough as it is." But by neglecting, he meant that instead of spending twenty four hours a day with her, he spent twenty four hours minus all the classes where he couldn't bring her. Which was a shame, because she's a sweetheart that would stay quiet and help him concentrate better...
... concentrate better on petting or feeding her treats instead of focusing in class. But those were just details.
The chocolate, however, he could not refuse. "Thank you!" he said, picking a caramel at random and popping it in his mouth, and the wrapping safely in his pocket to throw away later. |
