The satin wasn't actually as easy to work with as Night had hoped. She had tried to start from the skirt up five times, and she just couldn't get past a bottom layer. Maybe she'd need to change her idea. That was kind of an unhappy thought. She paged listlessly through the sewing magazines Professor Stewart had provided, wondering if there would be any use for the gold satin without her original bright, flamboyant idea. She'd tried and tried, but the fabric just slipped from her fingers, and from the machine.

Maybe, Night thought, she would just have to go with a simpler fabric, and add embellishments with the gold satin later. A thicker, slightly rougher fabric was a good idea, maybe with a satin trim for the skirt.
