"Ah, okay," he nodded when she explained the origin of her name was from a video game. "I know about video games but I'm not very good at them." He much preferred reading. "That's awesome that you're named after a video game though. Your parents must be cool."

His suspicions of Sylvie had lessened and Max found himself feeling a little more comfortable with the interaction. And she liked his name so that was good. "Caterpillar!? Why would anyone name their kid that??" He blinked incredulously. "To be fair, if rather be called Catterpillar than Flobberworm." He grinned back. Could you IMAGINE?
