Of course, Vivian came prepared to Potions class. And of course, she'd have her ingredients and cauldron with her, sir. The copper one, to be exact. They were essentials, after all, and how was she supposed to brew a potion without them? Forgetting to bring them to class was like coming to battle without a single weapon. Sure, a very intense comparison, but it really felt that way for the Slytherin.
With her equipment all set, Vivian out her notebook and scribbled some as the professor discussed the potion they were to brew today. A small smile grew on her lips when she gave more thought of what someone would look like with a pumpkin for a head. It was even funnier to think of her co-prefect Coleslaw with one. Seemed fun, but would have been easier and faster to transfigure someone's head instead. Fifty minutes of brewing was quite a long time.
Honestly, it made the prefect think of carving pumpkins for Halloween. It was an activity she enjoyed as a young kid, but clearly it wasn't the right time for it, considering Noble's mood. When was he ever in what seemed like a good mood, anyway? Vivian did the same as the professor did. "
Diffindo," she said, making a circle around the stalk and setting it aside. The prefect then took a metal spoon and began scooping out the pumpkin meat, separating the seeds and filling a Scourgified cup with pulp. As for the cauldron, she didn't forget. "
Scourgify!" And it was clean, and so was the cup. It was an important step, of course.
"
Incendio," Vivian lit up the burner and set the heat to medium before she dumped the first cup of pumpkin pulp into her cauldron and another one shortly after. Another scouring charm was sent to the cup to remove all pumpkin-y substances and filled it with "
Aguamenti!" There, one cup of water... which was added to her cauldron too. Not bad.
Moving on, she took three of the dried flitterby moths and placed it in the mortar where she began pounding on it to a fine powder. Just how fine the professor wanted, Vivian was unsure but she continued to grind the substance as much as she could. With that done, the Slytherin moved on with the bouncing bulb, which she retrieved from the front. The bouncy plant reminded her of hyper firstie Vivian. She was just like this ball of life. "
Stupefy!" And it stopped bouncing. There, she began to peel off the outer layer and proceeded to chop it as fine as possible with her knife. Sure, she knew how to chop these. Being her mum's second hand in cooking had done its job. After weighing 100 grams of the bouncing bulb, she set it aside with the powdered moths and waited.
As for the firstie, the blond had just finished setting the remaining ingredients aside before she went towards her. "
Let me help. I'm Vivian, by the way," the prefect smiled. Helping younger students out was her responsibility, after all. "
The incantation is Stupefy. Here, watch...." She took the girl's bouncing bulb and sent the stunning spell at it. "
Stupefy!" With that, it stopped bouncing too.
