Moving closer, the sixth year chanced a glance at his depiction of the willow. It was an ambitious choice, considering the unpredictability of the model. At any moment the tree could twist, shake, and lash out visciously as it was known to do. Perhaps the challenge of it was what made it so appealing.

"I used to. When I was small I'd draw pictures for my family and give them as gifts. I'd pick something they liked and go from there. They seemed to appreciate it." Or perhaps they were just humoring her. It wasn't until recently that she questioned such things, but maybe that was a part of growing up. "What made you want to start?" She moved onto the ground beside him, stretching out her legs.
Practice helps. Liam nodded, glancing at Junia. He could attest to the practice thing; he could see the difference in talent between drawings he did last year and the ones he completed more recently. He still wasn't that proud of his work or anything but... it was nice, being able to see your own improvement.

He turned the papers just slightly to make it easier for her to see when she moved closer. Not that he was showing off or anything but... you know. He listened to her as she told him that she used to draw, and nodded slowly. "I'm sure they did." He hoped so, at least. Because he was planning on doing some drawings for his own family. Mainly, his sister, and he was worried about if she'd like them or not.

Turning his gaze back to the Whomping Willow, Liam shrugged. "I started doodling in class, just 'cause I have a hard time paying attention sometimes." As much as he tried to be a good student. "And it sort of just went from there, I guess? I realized that it sort of helps me clear my head." And Junia probably didn't care to know that much, but she was going to hear about it anyway, apparently.
