Fans are being warned to watch out for internet scams after a site claiming to be selling copies of
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, was shut down.

The website was forced to shut down on Monday after the BBC told JK's agents about the scam.

The dodgy site promised: "This book is available now in electronic variant only. If you do not wish to wait for six months more, buy and start reading right now! Be the first to reveal all the secrets!"

Christopher Little, Rowling's literary agent, said: "The internet is monitored all the time for things like this and usually we manage to get them taken down more quickly than this one."
