Today, Friday, September 22nd, marks actor Tom Felton's monumental 30th birthday. As all
Harry Potter fans know, Tom has portrayed the character of
Draco Malfoy, Slytherin student and eventual young Death Eater, in the film series, including the final installments of Deathly Hallows.
Out of all the young stars from the
Harry Potter series, Tom has probably the widest range of projects outside the movies: he began acting at a very young age, well before the franchise, in such films as
Anna and the King and
The Borrowers. Tom starred in dark thrillers
The Disappeared,
13 Hrs, and
The Apparition, all of which he shot between
Harry Potter films.
After the completion of the series, Tom has had steady flow of roles, working alongside notably well-renowned actors in Fox's
Rise of the Planet of the Apes,
Belle,
Ghosts of the Pacific,
Therese,
Full Circle,
Risen,
Message from the King,
A United Kingdom,
Stratton,
Megan Leavey,
Feed,
The Flash, and the upcoming features
Whaling and
Ophelia.
Several people close to Tom and Draco called out the actor on his birthday, including author J.K. Rowling, Jason Isaacs (Tom's on-screen father Lucius Malfoy), and James Howard (Draco Malfoy in the London production of
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child):
Why not celebrate Tom's 30th birthday in his
fan club?
Happy Birthday, Tom!
