Ooooh. It had finally boiled. That was good. She jumped up from her stool, ready for the next step. She just wanted to get done with this potion now, because it was kind of hard work, and she was getting a bit of a headache from all of the concentrating. But if that meant that she did good, then she would be happy. She picked up her 5 betony leaves, and crushed them in her hand. That was kind of icky. She'd have to make sure she washed her hands later. Carefully, so she didn't burn herself, she added the crushed leaves to her potion. She leant on her tip toes, watching as her potion turned into the sapphire blue colour. "Yaaay" That meant she had to have done something right since it kind looked the right colour. That made Hattie very happy.
Oh no. Some more waiting. She put 5 minutes on the timer, and then mooched around, tidying things up, so that she didn't have too much to do later. The timer dinged, and she was quick to move onto the next step. She really didn't want to make a mistake. Harriet turned the heat off, and then sat back down, making some notes as she waited the 15 minutes whilst the potion cooled down.
There was a lot of waiting in this potion. Hattie decided that she didn't like it. She wasn't that much of a patient person. So it was probably a good thing that she wasn't going to be making potions for a living. She would not be able to try and be patient all of the time. It just would not work. Once the 15 minutes had gone by, dining off on her time, she carefully picked up her phials, and using the pipette she put her potion into the phials, and then labelled it up with her name. She did not want anyone taking credit for her potion, not after she had worked so hard on it.
After all of the potion was in the phials, she leant in and carefully scraped the dregs off the bottom of her cauldron, and put them into the tin box. Tis was weird, but she did it anyway. Hattie then drew the Asclepius Staff over the tin whilst saying "Venenum Inverto" She didn't really know if it had worked. But she was so done now.
So she popped her wand, and the tin box down on the bench, and began cleaning her cauldron and stuff down. Then she could rest. She had totally earned it.
