"Huh?" She said, blinking against the sunlight. "Oh, Barty. Right." The squid, of course! Joy had heard about this squid before. She wondered how often a student would see it.

"I haven't seen anything yet," she said with a friendly grin, "Except for a few mermaids and grindylows." She gazed out at the water in front of her. "Does he come out of the water often?" She wondered if giant squids were friendly. "I'm Joy Williams, by the way," she added, extending her hand.

Well, now she certainly hoped she'd catch a glimpse of Barty the Giant Squid. How fascinating.
