Valerie presumed that the look from Professor Williams meant the Wampus ought to seek the woman out later. Unable to contain the tsk as her tongue clicked the roof of her mouth and lips curled up sideways into a bit of a sneer (because the History of Magic professor surely knew Valerie had no choice but to as she had much to discuss with both the woman and her twin brother) she reluctantly nodded her head obligingly. Insufferable woman.
Mostly unaware that the eyes of one Dora Umbridge (although not entirely ignorant), she resettled her gaze upon Zoryn Spinnet while letting her say her piece. Despite the obvious distress displayed by the younger girl beneath her bold and brave exterior, the seventeen year old felt no need to apologize for her actions. Had she been impulsive, of course. But she had technically done precisely as asked when everyone else around her was ignoring the younger girl. She had done the girl a favor and that was that. "You are correct. You were not the person I was upset with," she offered with a curt nod. But other than this, she felt no need to defend her actions. Besides, the little one was entitled to her own misguided opinion. Anything the sixth year said would unlikely sway her anyway.
Tearing her fork away from the cake and scooping up a small sampling, she lifted it to her pale pink lips with a pointed raise of a well sculpted brow towards Zoryn. "I am," she paused. "I ought to inform you that I have a distaste for repeating myself." Slipping the fork into her mouth, Valerie gently sucked the cake off the metallic surface and considered its flavor a moment before giving a small approving nod towards the plate balanced on her other hand. "But it is refreshing to find one so young and yet with more of a backbone than those meant to educate her," she added as an afterthought while her eyes glanced around at the Hogwarts professors.
