Surprise, surprise.

The theme and concept of the party seemed great, the ship too was majestic (and he'd never been on a cruise before) and he did have a high hope that they served some great mouth-watering food here. Even thinking about the cuisine already made his stomach grumbled. Probably the Ilvermorny boy should act a little bit cooler than he used to because:

1) He wore a suit, which he rarely did and
2) He had a date. Although his date, Manuela, was also a friend of him but still, doing a little bit good impression wouldn't hurt, right?

"We should grab some food first before anything else." He said mentioning his life motto. Linking his arm to Manuela's, Evan led his date to one of the table. So far, he felt like he did great even though his heart started beating faster. "You look lovely, by the way."

His eyes widened as he looked up at the menu. They had Philly Cheesesteak and Sriracha Burger!
Nerves and anticipation had rolled into one and by the time Evan led them to the food section Manuela was jittery and and her appetite was completely gone. A terrible sign, maybe? considering she'd not eaten at all since breakfast, but she doubted she could make food slide down her throat and make it to her stomach.

That said food would need to be digested afterwards and all that was unthinkable.

She HAD no idea why she was so nervous. It was silly. Evan was a friend and he was admittedly cute and this meant nothing other than making sure the other wasn't alone at an event that had mentioned the word 'date.' And the fact that this was her first date to speak of shouldn't have meant a thing.

Except it did and her stomach was paying the consequences. It mattered enough for her to arrange her head into a milkmaid braid, anyway. It had taken forever, too.

She supposed compliments were expected when you were on a date, even with a friend, but she wished they could be spared even if it WAS true. She did look LOVELY. Enough that she'd harassed Harley into taking pictures before she'd left the beetle.

"Thanks." Manuela almost squeaked. Almost. "You look really nice, too." Also true. Suits and boys who knew how to wear them were something else. She poured herself something that both looked and smelled fruity and took a sip. Over the rim of her glass, she attempted to be casual about her staring. "What are you eating? Some of this actually looks good!"
