"So tell me about this other person on your list," he said. At first, Skylar wasn't sure he was going to stop, but of course he would have to stop momentarily for the fact that she had kissed him on the cheek. But the moment of silence, well, he might have just walked out immediately. And he could have, because they were just friends. She wasn't as pretty as Madelyn.
But then, something unexpected happened. He returned the kiss and he was smiling all goofy-like and Skylar was confused and warm. If there was ever a moment where one could be warm in an igloo without a fur coat, well, it was now.
Except for the question he asked after that, well, she was already warmed, which just made her cheeks flush pinker but she did get the sense that he hadn't been wholly honest with his list either.
"Hmm," she said thoughtfully, tapping her lip with one finger, "he's a tease, for sure, but he's very smart. He transferred here last year. He's got great hair. Oh, did I mention, he loves sports? Quodpot, quidditch... and well, did I mention too that he was a tease?"
