River had been apprehensive about this activity to be honest, considering what most of them had to witness from last term. Three of them were even involved in the situation, perhaps, scarring them for life. It made him look like the baddie here, but, they should realize that they are in Hogwarts, wherein too soon actually doesn’t exist. Accidents, big or small, can happen anytime, with or without adults. Hence, the lesson; River must be able to let them deal with the pressure, and let them learn how to cope with stress with a friend, or alone.

With all the commotion that happened, River was successful in disillusioning himself, sitting on a low branch, watching and observing them. Although his planned seminar was a risky one, he kept an eagle eye on everyone, especially those who got directly involved in the action. With a nod, the Healer non-verbally lifted his the disillusionment charm off him, and hopped on to the ground with a loud thud. “Well done, everyone. You answered to the call.” River pointedly ignored those who just watched, but nonetheless, addressed them as a whole.

SPOILER!!: Team Bossa
All ye involved!
River approached the group huddled around Monte, and quickly pressed his index and middle fingers against the side of the man’s neck, and nodded. “He’ll be out of it soon. His heartbeat is starting to beat faster.” River checked Monte’s wounds, which by the way he did not plan, and made room for those who were attending to him. “There’s not much bleeding, so we know that the cut is quite shallow. Good call on the Antiseptic and Murtlap Essence, everyone.” River grinned and gestured for them to continue, “Carry on…when you're done dressing the wound, do not apply the plaster. Let the wound breathe and dry out first.” he said giving Liv a grin.

SPOILER!!: Team Hirsch
Y’all know who you are!
Next was Roderik. River wanted to laugh so bad, but successfully suppressed it by biting his inner cheek hard. Again, the fall wasn’t planned. “Good work with the rescue everyone. And good call drying up our dear Defense professor first, Prefect Oliver.” River gave the Slytherin Prefect a single clap on the back, and went on to dry Ace next. “A comment though,” he addressed to the group and to everyone present, “When you rescue someone out of the water, do not pull on the victim. I know it’s hard to consider this given that there is urgency, however, you can prevent this by hooking your non-dominant arm and hand across your victim’s chest and underneath his or her armpits, and then swim with your dominant arm, OR, go behind your victim, hook both of your arms underneath his or her armpit and swim back to shore with your legs.” Sure, there will be pulling, but not enough to worsen the victim's injury. In their case, a broken arm.

River then turned to Junia and Rooney and gave them both a grin. “Commanding the dogs to help Hirsch and the rest of the rescue party out of the water was a very good idea too, Junia. If you can’t swim or unsure of your swimming abilities, getting help would be the next best thing. By doing so, Ace was able to hold on to one of them, giving our Gryffindor Prefect the extra power to paddle towards the shore.” Roscoe and Bumi then approached the Slytherin and started licking her hands, demanding for an ear scratch. “The ‘Reaching Assist’ was a good call too, Rooney. But, if the victims were farther from the shore, it would be best not to perform it in an almost upright position. Bend your legs, and then reach out so you wouldn’t fall in the water as well.” It would be…troubling for the victim if his or her rescuer got in trouble too.

Standing up, River positioned himself in between the two teams and cleared his throat, “Overall, I am impressed with the teamwork that happened here today, but before we get to the tail-end of this challenge, could I ask your thoughts on what one should do if one was faced with this situation? Do you…panic? Do you dive in right into the action?” His eyes drifted to where Abey and Derf were, and…Merlin.

OOC: We’re almost done, you guys! You can continue/catch up with the activity/healing going on with Team Bossa or Team Hirsch and/or answer River’s question. If your character has questions regarding the Rescue Activity, now is the time to ask them. We’ll continue in 24 Hours! (17 May 2017, 3:00pm, GMT +1)
