The first look at the BBC One television adaptation of J.K. Rowling's crime novels, under the name Robert Galbraith, was released during the network's 'Pure Drama 2017' trailer broadcast on Thursday.
The footage also revealed that the title of the seven-part series was truncated down dramatically, now called simply
Strike, rather than the original
The Cormoran Strike Mysteries. A few glimpses of actors Tom Burke as the titular private detective, and Holliday Grainger as his partner Robin Ellacott, can be spotted quickly at the :30, 1:50, and 2:20 minute marks.
Burke and Grainger were also profiled in the May issue of Vogue UK, in costume as Strike and Robin and in the PI's London office. That, as well as quotes from the two actors on how they prepared for the roles, can be found below.
Do note that BBC One has not announced the premiere date for
Strike, the first episodes of which were shot back in November.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling teased on Twitter recently that she got the chance to see a screening of the screen adaptation of the first book in the saga,
The Cuckoo's Calling.
