In the meantime, inquisition, much?
"Like what?" Sam asked. There were LOTS of things she'd learnt about Hogwarts over the last four years, some obvious...and some not so much. She pulled Olly on to her lap, and let him sniff around her fingers. No more treats for now. "You know about the four houses, right? Though I'm guessing you haven't been sorted yet?"
As for her? Where she was from was not turning out to be the most straightforward of questions. "London," she answered, it being the simplest, and the most recognisable to sometime from elsewhere in the world. "But Hogwarts is as much my home."
Ah, so Sam was a fifth year. Shay had guessed correctly, that they were close to the same age. Surely she would have had plenty of time to learn the ins and outs of the school. Then the younger girl wanted to know what
she wanted to know about Hogwarts. Shay shrugged her shoulders. You could ask that question of 100 different people and get 100 different answers.
When Sam mentioned the four houses, Shay nodded.
"Yes, I've heard about them. I'm curious to see where I'll end up. Which house do you belong to?" Were the students really sorted based on the qualities they possessed or would possess one day? That whole sorting process was fascinating to Shay.
And......Sam was from London.
"Cool", Shay replied.
"I really love It there." For some reason, she had taken a liking to London from the moment she had set foot in the city. More nodding occurred when Sam said she thought of Hogwarts as home.
"I can understand that. Sometimes school can feel more like home than home does." Home is where the heart is and all that.
